On October 30th, a fleet of 50 Gujarati Chagda bikes will parade 800km across Rajasthan to 101 brightly painted elephant sculptures, all in aid of their endangered wild cousins.
Inspired by one of the world’s most charismatic adventurers, the late and very great Mark Shand, and the amazing rickshaw race in his honour in 2015, this event continues a remarkable journey in conservation.
Travels to my Elephant II seeks modern day adventurers with an appetite for the extraordinary. Each team of three will be part of a crew that aims to raise £1m for Elephant Family, the charity founded by Mark and dedicated to saving the magnificent Asian elephant.

“Travels to my Elephant is an insane, magical, crazy adventure. When I travelled to meet Tara in 1997 it was my very own magical mystery tour and one of the great moments of my life. What a be-fitting way to celebrate a man who did so much for these animals!”
