Concours d’éléphant

Labelled ‘from India with love’ Elephant Family’s creative new fundraising campaign is set to throw a kaleidoscope of colour across London this summer while driving home a strong conservation message for the protection of Asia’s endangered elephants.

A customised fleet of 12 Ambassador cars, 8 Royal Enfield motorbikes, 2 tuk tuks and a Gujarati Chagda will make up the ‘Concours d’éléphant’ – a cavalcade of designer inspired, quintessentially Indian vehicles – while 31 beautifully decorated sculptures from Elephant Parade® will stand sentinel across the capital, ambassadors for their cousins in the wild.

The Concours d’éléphant takes to the streets on June 12th with a tour of London’s leading landmarks ahead of the judging – led by HRH Prince Michael of Kent – and a gala dinner and auction on June 28th. Supporting the cavalcade are the elephants – a welcome return after their last visit in 2010. They’ll be bringing colour to the streets from June 21st to July 18th – for more information, see the Concours d’éléphant website!
